Terms of Use

Samaan Pantry (also called Saman) is an iOS app from Saman Technologies LLC, doing business as Samaan Technologies. It helps you remember family recipes and provision one kitchen. Using the app or this website means you agree to these terms. Questions go to haaris@samantechnologies.com.

The service

Samaan is for capturing a recipe the way it was told, pulling ingredients onto a shopping list, and keeping provisions current so you can cook and restock. It is not a grocery delivery service, a price-comparison tool, or inventory software for a business.

• Recipe memory — you paste or capture a recipe; we store the transcript you give us and can extract ingredients for a list.
• Provisioning — items, quantities, lists, and pantries you add stay with your account so the next shop is easier.
• iPhone only — the app is built for iOS. This website is marketing, support, and these legal pages.

Your account

You can browse the app as a guest without an account; your data then stays on your iPhone. Sync across devices, recipe extraction, and account deletion need an account with a real email. Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be 13 or older. If we believe an account is under 13, we will delete it.

You can delete your account in Settings, or email us and we will do it within 30 days. Deletion removes your recipes and pantry data from our servers.

Your recipes and lists

Recipes, transcripts, notes, lists, and pantry items you add belong to you. You grant us a limited license to store them, sync them to your devices, and process a recipe you ask us to extract. We do not claim ownership of family recipes. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share.

Recipe extraction

When you ask the app to extract ingredients, the transcript is sent through our servers to an AI provider so we can structure what you captured. Extraction can miss a step, keep a vague measure, or get a name wrong. Review the result before you shop or cook. We do not use your pantry to train our own models. Details of who processes data live on the privacy policy.

Subscriptions

Some features require a paid plan (Samaan Pro). Purchases go through Apple. Apple charges you, Apple manages renewal, and Apple handles refunds under its rules. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Restore Purchases is in the app paywall. A subscription lasts until you cancel it or Apple ends it. We do not sell groceries and we do not take payment for food.

Acceptable use

Use the app for your own household kitchen. Do not:

• Break the law, impersonate someone, or try to access another person's account
• Abuse, scrape, or overload the service
• Upload malware or attempt to reverse-engineer the app for harm
• Use extraction to process content you do not have the right to share

We can suspend or close an account that violates these terms.

What we do not promise

The app is provided as-is. Recipe extraction, quantities, and restock suggestions are helpers, not advice. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for how a recipe turns out, a missed allergen, a store's stock, or a purchase you make outside the app.

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Saman Technologies LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost recipes, or amounts you spend shopping. Our total liability for a claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars if you have not paid us. Some places do not allow these limits; there they apply only as far as the law allows.

Privacy

How we collect and use data is in the privacy policy. That page is part of the agreement. If you need help deleting an account or exporting data, see support.

Ending the service

You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account. We can change, suspend, or stop the service, including paid features, with notice in the app or by email when we reasonably can. Apple remains the merchant of record for any subscription you bought through the App Store.

Changes

If we change these terms, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. For a significant change we will notify you in the app when we can.
